Tourism is a social, cultural and economic phenomenon that involves the movement of people to countries or places locatedoutside their usual environment for personal or business use or for business. These people are calledvisitors (and can be tourists or excursionists, residents or non-residents) and tourism relates to theiractivities, which involve some travel expenses.

The trip includes activities for travelers. A traveler is someone who moves between different geographic locations ťo any reason and length of time whatsoever. The visitor is a particular type of traveler, so that tourism is a subset of travel.
